The Ordinariate at St John Payne
The Colchester Ordinariate Group worships at the Parish Church of St John Payne, Greenstead. Mass is offered according to Divine Worship every Sunday at 4pm and on Wednesdays at 7pm. All are very welcome.
What is the Ordinariate?
The Personal Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham was established by Pope Benedict XVI in 2011. It allows groups of former Anglicans to be in full communion with the Catholic Church while keeping elements of their Anglican heritage, including its music, prayer and liturgical tradition.
Divine Worship is the Ordinariate’s form of the Mass. It is fully Catholic, and anyone may attend and receive Holy Communion in the usual way. Many find its traditional English, sacred music and reverent ceremony a beautiful way to pray.
